Fifteen things to do from English Harbour
The south of Antigua packs a lot into a small area. A historic dockyard, a lookout, two harbours and several beaches lie within a short drive or boat ride of each other. Further out are reef trips, a stingray stop and walks in the forest. The list below starts at the Dockyard, moves along the harbour, then reaches the beaches and the trips that need a boat or a car.
The numbers are not a ranking. Not every item is open every day, so check the current hours before you go. Prices are as listed in 2025 or 2026 and change. This is an independent guide, not the site of the National Parks Authority or of any operator named here.

Dockyard, Shirley Heights and the hills
Ideas 1 to 5 sit inside or just above the national park.
1. Nelson's Dockyard
The historic naval dockyard, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscribed in 2016. It is also an active marina. A 2025 park advert lists $15 for the Dockyard, Shirley Heights and the Dow's Hill centre together.
Nelson's Dockyard →2. Dockyard Museum
The museum collection is housed in the former Senior Officer's or Clerk's House. An older nomination file describes collections on Nelson and other people of the dockyard. Ask at the ticket office whether the museum is included in your ticket.
3. Shirley Heights
A viewpoint over English and Falmouth Harbours on a restored military lookout. The operator lists a Sunday party from 16:30 to 21:30 with steel pan, bands, barbecue and drinks. Do not assume that food and drink are part of the entry.
Shirley Heights →4. Dow's Hill
The Dow's Hill Interpretation Centre stands above the harbour and is part of the 2025 park advert. Check that it is open on the day you plan to visit.
5. Clarence House
A historic house museum above English Harbour, visited on a guided tour that needs a reservation. The park authority lists Wednesdays at 09:00 or 15:00 for $20 or EC$50, with a maximum of 10 people.

Around the harbours
Ideas 6 to 10 can be done on foot, by water taxi or a short ride.
6. Fort Berkeley
A historic harbour fortification at the entrance to English Harbour. It is one of the park's listed historic locations.
7. Middle Ground
A path over the heights between Fort Berkeley and Pigeon Point, also called the Goat Track. A marine guide describes about 1 mile, steeper stretches and ropes in places. Wear proper shoes.
Hiking →8. Galleon Beach
A beach in English Harbour, reached by car or by water taxi. Currents can be deceptively strong and not every beach has lifeguards.
Galleon Beach →9. Pigeon Point
A beach near the Dockyard, listed by the tourism authority as a swimming stop after your visit. The Middle Ground path leads there from Fort Berkeley.
10. Falmouth Harbour
The neighboring bay, known for its marinas and large yachts. Falmouth Harbour Marina describes deep berths for big yachts and was founded in 1994. It is a working marina, so do not count on free access to the docks.
Falmouth Harbour →Beaches and trips across the island
Ideas 11 to 15 need a car, a guide or a boat.
11. Rendezvous Bay
A beach on the central south coast. The tourism authority describes access by four-wheel drive or on foot, so it is not an easy stop for every rental car.
Antigua's beaches →12. Half Moon Bay
A crescent-shaped beach on the east and southeast coast. It is not in English Harbour, so plan a separate trip.
13. Cades Reef
A boat trip along the leeward coast to a reef about 2 miles long. One operator lists it from $120 with snorkeling, a beach stop and lunch. It is an island trip, not a reef in front of the harbour.
Snorkeling →14. Stingray City
An organized speedboat trip from Seaton's Village to a shallow sand and reef spot with southern stingrays. It is not in English Harbour. Read the page on animal welfare before you book.
Stingray City →15. Signal Hill
A guided forest walk from Wallings. One operator lists it as medium difficulty, 5 miles and 2½ hours, at $30 or EC$81 for adults and $20 or EC$54 for children under 16. Other operators describe a shorter route, so compare before you book.

One more stop: Devil's Bridge
Devil's Bridge is a natural limestone arch with blowholes on the Atlantic coast near Indian Town Point, east of Willikies. It is not in English Harbour and is not part of the fifteen. A tourism guide says there is no historical evidence for the popular story of enslaved people jumping from the arch. The guide also calls the neighboring area a local swimming spot, which is no clearance for swimming at the arch or in the open Atlantic.
If you plan a longer Caribbean trip, St. Thomas has its own beach guide.
