English Harbour at a glance
English Harbour is a sheltered bay in the south of Antigua. The old naval dockyard on its shore, the hills above it and Falmouth Harbour next door make up the area most visitors come for. It is not Antigua Guatemala, and Falmouth here is not the town in Cornwall. UNESCO inscribed the "Antigua Naval Dockyard and Related Archaeological Sites" in 2016. The dockyard was built and run with the knowledge and labor of enslaved Africans, and this guide says so where history comes up.

Start at Nelson's Dockyard, walk to Fort Berkeley, follow the Middle Ground path to Pigeon Point and swim there. The path has steeper stretches and ropes in places, so wear proper shoes.

A National Parks Authority advert from 2025 lists $15 for the Dockyard, Shirley Heights and the Dow's Hill centre together. Older figures such as $8 are out of date. No dated 2026 tariff is published, so ask at the gate. Child and senior rates are not listed.

The organizer gives 21–25 April 2027, and the Classic Yacht Regatta runs 14–19 April 2027. Since 2026 Sailing Week uses a point-to-point format, so older advice about watching every race from the harbour hills may not apply. Some calendars show other dates.
